Throughout history, beauty has often been valued as a visible expression of health and reproductive fitness. Across generations, women have reached for red lipstick as a symbol of strength, transformation, confidence, sensuality, and self-possession. Evolutionary psychologists including Nancy Etcoff, Geoffrey Miller, and Gillian Rhodes have explored why appearance enhancement is so enduring across cultures. Their work suggests that cosmetics can accentuate naturally attractive features, including The Natural Flush of the Lips. 

From an evolutionary perspective, red lips have long been associated with health and attraction. During states of sexual arousal, increased blood flow causes the lips to appear naturally redder and fuller. SYNCOTHÈNE™ takes its name from its avant garde use to illustrate perfection. Etymologically, it draws inspiration from the Greek roots syn (“together”) and tithēmi (“to place” or “to arrange”). Together, they express a simple idea: to bring every element into perfect alignment.

Γνῶθι σεαυτόν (Gnōthi seautón) Commonly translated as: Know thyself. One of the three famous Delphic Maxims inscribed at the Temple of Apollo at Delphi in ancient Greece. The saying predates Socrates but became central to Socratic philosophy. The phrase encourages self-understanding before attempting to understand or control the world. Throughout history, philosophers have interpreted it differently and it has several layers.
