As hormones naturally shift with age, skin can experience changes in collagen, elasticity, hydration, and lipid composition, making dryness and visible signs of aging more pronounced. We formulate to support the skin functions affected by these changes, not just the visible signs they leave behind.

The stratum corneum typically contains approximately 15–20% water. Below roughly 10%, skin can become dry, rough, tight, and less flexible.

Ceramides make up approximately 50% of stratum corneum lipids by weight, alongside cholesterol and free fatty acids. When this lipid matrix is disrupted, transepidermal water loss can increase and barrier function can decline.
